The Fresno County Child Care and Development Local Planning Council (LPC) is a forum which supports planning and actions to promote a quality early care and education system that meets the needs of all children and families.

Responsibilities of the Fresno County Child Care & Development Local Planning Council (LPC)
When legislation does not identify a specific target populations or geographic areas to be served in allocating expansion funds for state-subsidized childcare, the State Child Development Division will use the Local Planning Council priorities for the purpose of allocating new state and federal funds with Fresno County. Upon approval by the Fresno County Board of Supervisors and the Fresno County Superintendent of Schools, the LPC shall identify the local priorities to meet the child care needs in the county and shall submit them to the California Department of Education. In accordance with Education Code Section 8499.5 (a), the State Child Development Division will annually notify the Local Planning council in each county of the amount to be allocated within the county and the timeline for the allocations
