The Early Care and Education (ECE) department is the liaison between the California Department of Education and the more than 240 subsidized ECE and childcare programs in Fresno County. Our mission is to provide leadership and training in the arena of Early Care and Education to schools, providers and the community in an effort to ensure a high-quality school readiness experience for children. Working in collaboration with higher education, other agencies and providers, our goal is to promote a seamless transition between ECE programs and the schools. In addition, we promote access and quality school readiness and childcare experiences which will provide the foundation for social, emotional, and academic success.
